↗ Task
Coltene has asked for an outstanding way to present its dental products at the International Dental-Schau (IDS). The target audience for the mobile VR application should primarily be limited to visitors to the show. Specifically, the virtual campaign is intended to address dentists, dental staff as well as buyers.
↗ Planning
In consultation with the customer, we decided to show the process of a root canal treatment. In this way, we were able to present the wide range of flexible drill heads in the most impressive way. To do this, we had the idea of placing the viewer in an abstract oral cavity. The devices were to be arranged around the viewer on a ring and used one after the other. The environment was to be similar to a dentist’s office and thus put the prospective customers at the trade fair in a familiar environment. In order to recreate the root canal treatment as realistically as possible, it was necessary to conduct detailed research and closely coordinate the storyboard and the specifics of the products to be used with the client.
↗ Journey
The viewer must first put on a headset that was given to him with the launched app. By making small head movements, the viewer can move the virtual cursor and thus activate the start button. After activation, the viewer finds themself in an oral cavity where everything has been isolated except the tooth to be treated. From here, he can now observe how a root canal treatment is performed using Coltene products. At the end of the presentation, he has the option to restart the video.
↗ Learnings
The trade show visitors were positively surprised to be able to experience such a type of product presentation at a trade show for dentistry. This resulted in many interesting conversations with potential customers. Coltene was able to stand out from the competition through innovative product marketing and bring its brand to life.
