Due to the constant growth of employees, Porsche was faced with the challenge of providing a uniform, and completely in porsche manners, extravagant training in the new working environment of a porsche employee. The classical training by means of presentations and workshops should be relieved and therefore a new approach was needed.
↗ Planning
First, we had to consider which AR API might fit Porsche’s needs. Since we wanted to play the app to a large mass of users and make it accessible on their work phones, our developers chose 8th Wall. 8th Wall integrates AR into traditional mobile browsers like Chrome or Safari and makes it possible to access it without having to download an app. This step is important because an API from each company behaves differently and can massively affect the experience.
↗ Journey
The training is led by an avatar named Thomas. He is a fictional employee and accompanies you through different chapters of the company. The user places a model of the chapter on a flat surface and is then able to start the experience. Each chapter consists of an intro, an interactive quiz and a video that summarizes what has been learned. Each chapter is unlocked after finishing the previous one. If the User finishes all chapters, it is granted with a printable certification with it’s name on it.

This innovative onboarding solution combined entertainment and education, setting a new standard for brand training that has impressed people worldwide. This Web-App has won 6 Awards in different categories such as User Interface.
